EMPD nails 11 wanted suspects

EMPD special operation a success.

The EMPD Public Order Policing Unit visited different police stations and collected SAPS dockets, containing information of wanted suspects on October 3.

The dockets were of suspects who disappeared after criminal cases were opened against them, or who failed to appear in front of the magistrate’s courts when summoned.

Kobeli Mokheseng, EMPD spokesperson, said the 11 male suspects who were traced and apprehended for a range of crimes, including armed and common robbery, dealing in drugs, theft, assault with GBH, fraud, malicious damage to property and contempt of court, were between the ages of 28 and 48.

“They were detained and handed over at Eden Park, Etwatwa, Katlehong, Tembisa, Rabie Ridge and Vosloorus police stations, where they will remain until their appearances at appropriate courts,” said Mokheseng.
