Suspected Norkem Park house robbery gang nailed in Tembisa

All five male suspects are from Mozambique and were detained at Norkem Park Police Station.

Five men suspected of a series of house robberies in the Norkem Park area had been nailed in Tembisa.

Law enforcers found two flat-screen televisions, 15 wrist watches, four cellphones, bank cards, baseballs caps and a necklace in their possession.

The men are aged between 28 and 37 years, said metro police spokesperson Kobeli Mokheseng.

According to Mokheseng, the metro police, police and other law enforcement agencies burned the midnight oil on October 17 and 18, following a number of house robbery complaints in the Norkem Park area.

They foiled two break-in attempts and acting on a tip-off, moved to Vusimuzi informal settlement in the early hours of the morning, where the five suspects were arrested.

They were positively identified with a spate of house robberies and break-ins. All five male suspects are from Mozambique and were detained at Norkem Park Police Station for house robbery, possession of suspected stolen items and murder.
