EMPD Choir wins top awards at choral competition

The choir is known for performing at the City’s official events

The Ekurhuleni Metro Police Choir hits the right notes.

The choir secured a first place at the Gauteng Choral Association competition in both the vernacular and western song categories.

They were also crowned overall winners of the competition.

Council was abuzz with jubilation during its monthly meeting on October 31 as the choir joined the proceedings.

The choir is known for performing at the City’s official events and assisting with maintaining stately decorum during ceremonies.

The speaker, Alderman Patricia Kumalo, sent out a congratulatory message to the choir on their outstanding performance at the competition.

“The EMPD ensemble is our flagship choir in the City. We are so proud of your outstanding achievement and wish you nothing but the best going forward,” said Kumalo.
