New Siyakhokha feature curbs frustrating notices in your gate

This method will enable customers to have money debited and/or collected immediately from their bank accounts

The online municipal bill payment system of the City of Ekurhuleni, Siyakhokha, sits just over 100 000 registered users in a record breaking four months.

The platform assists the City to collect revenue for municipal services rendered in a fast, easy and reliable manner.

Siyakhokha has recently leaped into the second phase of the system upgrade which means there are added features that are going to make your life even better and simpler, said metro spokesperson Themba Gadebe.

With the deployment of the new features, the payment system now allows for instant EFT payments. This means customers will now have a third payment method, in addition to Masterpass payments and debit orders.

This method will enable customers to have money debited and/or collected immediately from their bank accounts. This enhancement will ensure real-time transaction and payment of your municipal account, therefore curbing unwarranted notifications and disconnections, said Gadebe.

Registered Siyakhokha users will now receive statement notifications via SMS or e-mail as soon as their new monthly statement is uploaded on Siyakhokha. It will inform users of the amount due and the payment due date.

“The City is proud to provide its residents with a safe and user-friendly payment system that allows easy ways to access, view, manage and pay your municipal account,” said Gadebe.

The City encourages all residents who have not yet registered to do so on www.siyakhokha.ekurhuleni.gov.za.

Once registered, you will be able to access, manage and pay your municipal account.

Residents can also contact the Siyakhokha call centre:
