When they were left alone, Baloyi told her friend she had just aborted the child and needed help to bury him.
Baloyi then requested her friend to accompany her to burn the baby clothes and on their way they bought paraffin which they took with to a nearby open space.
At the open space, Baloyi placed the baby shawl and blanket on top of the bag she had been carrying.
She tried to ignite the fire but failed and her friend offered to help and this time, the shawl, blanket and bag were engulfed in flames.
All along, Baloyi’s friend didn’t hear any cries or movement from the bag.
The following day, Baloyi went to Standerton where her mother resides and confessed to have killed her child.
Her mother immediately called the police who arrested her. While she was in Standerton, the Winnie Mandela residents discovered the remains of the burnt baby at the open space and also alerted the local police.
Since 2017, Baloyi has been attending this case where she confessed to have committed the crime.
