“On arrival, one of the men started running and although police gave chase, they couldn’t locate him,” said Capt Jethro Mtshali, spokesperson for Kempton Park SAPS.

“The officers searched the remaining men and found two in possession of ammunition. One was found with four rounds and the other with two.”

Both suspects, aged 31 and 34, were detained at Kempton Park Police Station pending their appearances in Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court.

In other news, 10 motorists were arrested on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol.

“This comes after police, in conjunction with national traffic police officers, conducted roadblocks on Pretoria Road in an effort to curb accidents during the festive season,” said Mtshali.
