Isando reservoir runs dry: no water again for Kemptonians

The Isando reservoir has run dry as a result of the demand exceeding the supply, following lengthy pipe repairs in Isando this week.

Ward councillor Jaco Terblanche said the there was no pressure in the reservoir leading to residents being without water again on Friday morning.

According to him the metro has now opened the bypass to rectify the problem and water should return within three to four hours, hopefully sooner.

The areas affected are the those areas also affected during the maintenance: Isando, Spartan, Cresslawn, Kempton Park CBD, Aston Manor, Allen Grove, Nimrod Park, Glen Marais, part of Pomona and Bredell.

There is currently also a water outage in Bonaero Park because of a burst pipe.
