Four armed robbers were sentenced to 15 years imprisonment each in Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, more than three years after the crime.

Nkosi Martin Mjila (24), Sipho Mjila (27), Bhekani Duma (25) and Luthando Rhasman (24) robbed a business on the corner of Du Plessis and Commissioner streets on June 17, 2016, said Capt Jethro Mtshali, Kempton Park SAPS spokesperson.

The men, two armed with firearms, entered the store at about 3pm, pretending to be customers. They robbed the staff and owner of cash and cellphones.

Police and security officers were summoned and the robbers were arrested on the spot and the cash was recovered, said Mtshali.

The criminals had been in custody from the day of their arrest.

The investigating officer was Det Jason Bramdaw.
