Ecaleni Section’s Christmas celebrations

Ecaleni community enjoys Christmas together.

The community of Ecaleni Section in Tembisa celebrated Christmas day in a unique street celebration themed Phuthuma Makhelwane.

The celebrations aimed to bring the community together and community members contributed toward the event.

Lucky Mazibuko, the co-ordinator of the event, said he was used to decorate the streets on Christmas and New Year. He said in the past the organising was done by a friend, but he has died.

“We shall continue where he left off. Fortunately, the community responded well and everyone contributed a few rands.

“We managed to get three jumping castles, three swimming pools and bumping balls. From the money we collected we also managed to get snacks for the children,” said Mazibuko.

Mazibuko also said they also aimed at uniting children and show them love to make them realise that they care about them.
