Kids enjoy Reconciliation Day in style

Kids Festival celebrate Reconciliation Day

The Sello Sa Tlou Theatre Group hosted the Kids Festival inaugural annual event at the Winnie Mandela Open Sport in Tembisa on December 16.

The event provided entertainment for children, including the use of jumping castles. The adults were entertained to music, with the local artists using the platform to showcase their talents.

Organiser Sello Malebana said the event brought together children from different provinces to enjoy themselves.

“During this time we have had kids from other provinces visiting this site. In short, they also got to enjoy the Gauteng atmosphere,”said Malebana.

Thapelo Moholola, coordinator, said his experience of working with organisations such as Powerico Winter Games, Phillys Games, Lerato Lamola Winter Games, led him to carve out his own path of organising such event as the Kids Festival.

“The problem we face is that we do not have sponsors. However, we hope to have funds donated to us so that we can contribute towards the sustenance of the local creche.

“The Babelegi creche does not not have proper infrastructure for kids to play, so we we would like to improve the infrastructure at the creche,” said Moholola.

Entertainment brought joy to the children, as they also received toys.
