Stage 2 load shedding to start at 9pm tonight

If the situation does not improve, load shedding will also be implemented on Thursday during the day

Eskom will implement stage 2 load shedding from 9pm tonight (Wednesday) until 8am tomorrow morning.

In a statement released earlier this evening, Eskom said load shedding is scheduled during the night to maximise electricity availability during the working day tomorrow.

The entity is still battling with the vulnerable system with breakdowns sitting at 13 543MW at 4.30pm on Wednesday afternoon.

“In the event that we lose other generation units or are unable to bring back those that were out of maintenance, load shedding may be implemented during the day.”

Kempton Park’s schedule until 8am tomorrow is:

9pm to 11pm: Glen Marais, Allen Grove, Norkem Park, Birchleigh Extensions and Bonaero Park

10.30pm to midnight: Birch Acres, Terenure, Edleen, Van Riebeeck Park, Kempton West
