Winnie Mandela lass serves her community
Young lass to give back to the community through the uniform drive
Palesa Mailula of Tembisa hopes to serve the community to the fullest through her Miss Face of Winnie Mandela title, and in part, this will be through the uniform drive she is initiating.
The drive conceived by Mailula entails collecting new and old school uniform for distribution to poor residents who may not afford the expense to buy uniform for their children.
The 18-year-old Mailula from Zitikeni Secondary School, and the Miss Face of Winnie Mandela 2019 second princess, hopes the project will go a long way towards helping the needy to meet their obligations of supporting their children.
“As Miss Winnie Mandela Second Princess, I have a duty to serve the community that made it possible for us to participate in pageants in the township.
“As a young woman, I am motivated by the late Winnie Mandela. As a woman, she achieved a lot.
“This uniform drive is motivated by the need to see other young people walk the streets with confidence in full uniform,”she said.
Mailula also said she looking for wheelchairs sponsors to help residents of Winnie Mandela in need of them, especially those who need to collect their medication from the local clinic.
