YLO founded by teens fights against gangsterism in Tembisa

They recently engaged with and assisted an orphanage called Tumelo Home in Ivory Park

The Youth Leadership Organisation (YLO) is a non-profit organisation, founded by teenagers from Tembisa who aim to keep young people away from gangsterism.

Pfarelo Maphangule, Lutendo Thovhakale and Kevin Maanzwane founded the organisation in 2017. Through YLO, they help the less privileged and those who are in need.

“YLO is an organisation that helps the youth with leadership skills by creating events where children from orphanages are offered teachings and motivational talks. The organisation is run by learners, particularly the youth, between 13 years and 21 years.

“We recently engaged with and assisted an orphanage called Tumelo Home which is in Ivory Park Extension Two, and also assisted a group of learners from various schools by donating school shoes and clothes to them as an early Christmas present.

“We, as the YLO, are kindly asking for your assistance in donating food, stationery, furniture, used clothes or funding.

“The Youth Leadership Organisation and those whose lives we aim to change appreciate your assistance in advance,” said Maphangule.
