Woman’s decomposing body found in her Bonaero Park home
Police had to break open the gate and doors to gain entry to the house.
The body of a 57-year-old woman was found in a decomposing state in her home in Bonaero Park on January 3 after a friend made alarm.
According to Capt Jethro Mtshali, spokesperson for Kempton Park SAPS, the friend had been trying to call her since Christmas Day without success. She later went to her house to see what was going on,” said Mtshali.
“She was unable to get inside the home on Langenhagen Avenue as the gate was locked, which was when she called police and security.”

Police had to break open the gate and doors to gain entry to the property.
“Once inside, they searched the house and found the woman’s body in the lounge area,” said Mtshali.
“Nothing was broken at the house and we don’t suspect foul play at this stage. During the search of the house, police found a book that contained phone numbers and managed to make contact with a woman in the UK who told police the deceased was her sister.
“The body was taken to the government mortuary for examination to establish the cause of death. It is not yet clear how long she had been lying there. The post mortem report should reveal the time.”
Mtshali said it was believed the woman was living alone with her dog.
