Man suspected of killing his girlfriend hands himself over to police

Her body was found in her room on Monday

A man accused of murdering his girlfriend Lorna Shivambu in Emoyeni Section in Tembisa has handed himself over to the police and will make his first court appearance today (Thursday) in Tembisa Magistrate’s Court.

According to Rabasotho police spokesperson Const Patricia Mgijima, the suspect handed himself over to police in Mpumalanga after he had been on the run for a number of days.

According to information, Shivambu’s body was discovered on Monday in her rented room in the township. Her family became suspicious after she failed to pitch for work at her mother’s hair and beauty salon.

A search for her ensued and her body was then discovered.

The family and friends suspect she was poisoned, allegations the police said would only be confirmed once a post mortem has been done.
