Rabie Ridge SAPS on mission to keep citizens safe.

Rabie Ridge Police Station SAPS last week paraded at the nearby sports ground in preparation for the police blitz to keep the residents safe.

Police officers focused on roadblocks. They also stopped and searched vehicles, visited liquor outlets and searched for drugs.

Ekurhuleni District communication officer Cpt Nelda Sekgobelasaid said the police issued fines to the value of R15 000 to 10 illegal shebeen owners. Second hand goods dealers involved in illicit trade were slapped with fines to the value of R3 000. Traffic offenders in total were fined R11 900. The police also seized liquor to the value of R20 000 from illegal shebeens.

“Members searched 459 persons, 114 vehicles, 26 premises, visited nine licensed liquor outlets, eight second hand goods outlets and 32 spaza shops. They also pounced on three addresses known to deal in drugs.

“They further conducted three foot patrols and 30 vehicles patrols. There was no serious crime reported during the time of the operation,” said Sekgobela.
