Community members of Birch Acres in Ward 13 will hold a service delivery protest on January 31.
The leaders of the march requested that the mayor of Ekurhuleni receive their memorandum of grievances. Community representatives said it will be a peaceful march.
Themba Mshuqwane, the EFF secretary in Ward 13, said this is a community protest to tackle issues of service delivery in their ward.
“We have a promised library, an unfinished school and a clinic that were not delivered, at least not according to the actual plans.
“The burning issues are more on service delivery and the unfinished primary school. The other issue is the mobile clinic in the form of a container that was simply dumped next to Isimuku Street, whereas it was supposed to be temporarily positioned at Birch Acres Park,” concluded Mshuqwane.
