Kebe, who allegedly beheaded his girlfriend in their flat in April, last year, and left her head in the fridge, was arrested at his place of work on West Street shortly after the body of Sibongile Zenzile (28) was discovered on April 26.
After several appearances in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court, the matter was transferred to the South Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg, following the decision by the director of public prosecutions.
Kebe is facing two charges, one for murder and another for the violation of a corpse.
The magistrate told the court last year the allegation was that on April 25, Kebe unlawfully and intentionally stabbed Zenzile several times and killed her.
The second count is one of violating a corpse, where the allegation is that the accused unlawfully tried to dispose of Zenzile’s body by cutting off her head and placing it in the fridge.
