A 23-year-old homeless man was arrested for murder on Saturday following the death of another homeless man.
Capt Jethro Mtshali, spokesperson for Kempton Park SAPS, said the incident occurred on Park Street.
Around 8.30am, Kempton Park Police were summoned to the scene by community members. Upon their arrival, they found the victim in a pool of blood with a stab wound to his upper body.
It is believed the two men knew each other.
“The suspect allegedly confessed to police on the scene that he stabbed the victim over nyaope and threw the murder weapon in a nearby storm water drain,”said Mtshali.
The weapon could not be found.
