Everything is on track to start with the relocation of Glen Marikana Informal Settlement residents on Monday.
According to ward councillor Jaco Terblanche, the City of Ekurhuleni is currently preparing the land in Putfontein where residents will be moved to.
“Ground is being levelled and stands marked out. Residents will have water, chemical toilets and refuse removal, while high mast lighting will be provided,” Terblanche said on Thursday.
Individual homes will be provided with electricity within a few months’ time.
