Residents will have to live a while longer with the ugly sight of uncut grass in parks and open spaces in the city. According to metro spokesperson, Themba Gadebe, the City of Ekurhuleni is well behind schedule as a contractor had not been appointed.
“We are working on getting a new contractor onboard. We are at the tail-end of the supply chain process which is currently at the adjudication stage,” said Gadebe.
When can residents expect all long grass to be cut?
“Once the tender is in place by the end of March. However, our officials are working overtime to deal with the backlogs,” he added.
