Man arrested in Mayibuye selling new taps

The suspect said he picked up the taps in a field

Rabie Ridge SAPS received a tip-off from the community of Mayibuye that there was a man walking around selling water taps.

Upon arrival, the police found the man walkingoin Bulelwa Makomane Street in Mayibuye. They asked him where he got the taps from. He said he picked up the taps, which were still new, in a field.

Const Jacob Nhlongo, Rabie Ridge communications officer, said the suspect was arrested and detained at Rabie Ridge SAPS and charged with possession of suspected stolen goods.

He will appear at Thembisa Magistrate’s Court soon. The sector leader of Mayibuye would like to thank those community members who took the initiative of calling the police when they saw something wrong. He also added that community members should know that if they report such things to the sector and the police, they must know that their identity will be protected.
