Highlands Park FC donates to feeding schemes at two schools
Boitumelong Secondary School gets a visit from Panyaza Lesufi and Highlands Park FC.
Highlands Park FC and Hatfield Motor Group donated food parcels at Boitumelong Secondary School and Tshepisa Primary School on March 12.
The event was also attended by Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi. Sinky Mnisi, Highlands Park’s director and shareholder, said the reason they chose this date was because it was his birthday.
“I grew up under very difficult circumstances. I noticed that it doesn’t help me sitting at home enjoying my birthday, instead of sharing it with other needy children,” said Mnisi.
He encouraged the learners to work hard in their studies and to persist in everything they do. He also told the learners that they are the only ones who can decide their own future.
“Learners should go out there and define their own destinies. The whole purpose is to give back to our schools,” explained Mnisi.
He added that they do not intend to stop here, and that next year they will again choose other schools to donate and give back to.

On behalf of the school committee, the principal of Boitumelong Secondary School, Sesi Makena, conveyed her appreciation to Highlands Park FC, Hatfield Motor Group, as well as the MEC for being present.
“We thank the director, Mnisi. It is very rare that when people celebrate their birthdays they give. They always want to receive. We thank you for thinking of Boitumelong Secondary School,” said Makena.
She also thanked the club’s coach, Owen Da Gama, for being present and bringing the team to the school. Makena said that Boitumelong Secondary School is privileged to have been chosen to receive the food parcel donations.
Boitumelong learners were excited to see the MEC and Highlands Park FC. Grade Eight learner Tsheamo Tladi said that he is thankful to Mnisi for donating to their school. He said that the food will help them in a big way.
Panyaza Lesufi, who is a former learner at Boitumelong Secondary School, also encouraged learners to study and work hard.
“I want to thank Highlands Park FC for this important occasion of ensuring that those who are poor are not exposed. “Also, those who are going through difficulties are given support and that through education, they will find a permanent solution.
“They have not made a mistake to choose Boitumelong Secondary School. This is one school that has changed the face of education in our province. It is the first school to introduce a paperless education system,” said Lesufi.
