Ekurhuleni Metro Police’s specialised units received 28 new vehicles on Monday.
The handing over ceremony took place at Dries Niemandt Recreational Grounds.
The chief of police, Jabulani Mapiyeye, joined by his management team, handed over 13 Isuzu light delivery vehicles and 15 VW Polo sedans to metro police officers.
“This fleet will be utilised by attending accident scenes, the rapid deployment to crime scenes, enforcing municipal by-laws, visible policing and serving communities at large,” said Mapiyeye.
