An 11-hour planned power supply interruption will affect many residents on Friday when the City of Ekurhuleni carries out urgent repairs to electrical equipment at the Van Riebeeck Park Substation.
According to a notice shared by ward councillor Tracey Lourenco power will be off from 8am to 7pm on June 12.
The areas to be affected are Kempton Park West, Terenure, Birch Arces, Edleen and Van Riebeeck Park.
According to the notice, the energy department will as far as reasonably practicable, put in every effort to minimise the outage period.However, no guarantee can be given that the power will remain off the entire time specified and customers are therefore warned that the power supply must be considered live the whole time.
Also, no guarantee can be given that the deadline of 7pm will be met. Work will continue until the power is restored, the City said.
The City of Ekurhuleni apologises for the inconvenience caused.
