Mould Empower Serve (MES) Kempton Park would like to call on the public to get involved in its Mandela Day activities.
According to Helena van Blerk, branch manager, 2020 has been a challenging year so far due to the coronavirus that has infiltrated many countries across the world.
“This virus has brought with it worry, panic, trauma, short fall of resources and ultimately has brought some parts of the world to a complete standstill. However, it has also brought about a lot of compassion and appreciation of things and people which were previously taken for granted.

“It has forced us to realise and accept a new normal, thus proving our undeniable spirit of perseverance.
“Mandela spoke of and practised showing compassion to those in need, which led to us celebrating 67 minutes of service and compassion every year on July 18. This year is no different and MES Kempton Park would like to encourage the Kempton Park community to get involved in our #67minutesVirtualChallenge,” said van Blerk.
You can support MES by donating funds or goods/services towards the following: food relief, educational aid, staff appreciation, personal protective equipment, maintenance and operational branch expenses.

MES Kempton Park will also run a raffle where members of the public can win a hamper worth R670.
How to enter:
1. Every R67 that is donated, equals one entry.
2. Once the donation has been made via EFT, proof of payment needs to be emailed to luwanda@mes.org.za with the donor’s name, surname and contacts details.
3. The raffle runs from July 1 to July 31.
4. The winner will be announced and contacted on August 3.
