Jaco Terblanche was re-elected as Ward 16 councillor in 2016.
The ward comprises Kempton Park Extensions, Kempton Park Ext 2-4, Allen Grove, Aston Manor, Nimrod Park, Glen Marais Extensions.
Terblanche’s goals for his ward include:
- Building a new reservoir that will be in commission in 2021 to resolve the water issues in Aston Manor and Glen Marais.
- Upgrading of the park in Ward 16 to ensure a place for community members to interact with each other. Children can play and an outdoor gym is available for fitness enthusiasts.
- Upgrade of the electricity network in the Glen Marais Ext One area due to continues cable faults from 2017.

Terblanche was first elected in 2011 for Edleen, Van Riecbeeck Park, Kempton Park Extentions, Kempton Park Ext 2-4, and Allen Grove.
His achievements include the construction of a new EMPD precinct in Edleen, erecting a spotlight behind the Total Garage in Soutpans Road in Van Riecbeeck Park.
He also helped establish the Van Riecbeeck Park Crime Community Forum.
