Mayibongwe Charles Ncube, the founder of BongweD30 Foundation has been redefining the narrative for more than 20 underprivileged children in Kempton Park.

The foundation was launched in 2018. It provides a home for orphaned and abandoned children.

According to Ncube, the foundation aims to ensure that every child flourishes through receiving an education, decent nutrition, staying healthy and developing the skills they need to become an agent of change in the communities and nations they are part of.

“I lead a foundation that supports children from disadvantaged backgrounds. Growing up as an orphan myself, I understand the needs of orphans and children whose parents cannot afford to give them a sustainable life,” said Ncube.

“We aim at changing lives and catering for those who are in need. The foundation provides support to children who are orphans and from destitute environments.

“It is our duty to provide the necessary care for such children. We help with education and provide counseling, food parcels, clothes and stationery.

“We also create awareness about the plight of children from poorer backgrounds.

“During this pandemic we still maintain our promise to provide food and protective equipment to the children we already have in our database and all others in need.”
