Kempton SAPS women reduce long queues

Throughout Women's Month, the women at the Kempton Park Police Station dedicated themselves to ensure the betterment of the service at the station.

The women at the Kempton Park Police Station set up a gazebo next to the charge office to help better the services at the station by reducing the long queues. This initiative was started in light of Women?s Month.

Throughout Women’s Month, the women at the Kempton Park Police Station dedicated themselves to ensure the betterment of the service at the station.

“We set up a gazebo next to the charge office to help reduce the long queues at the station,” said Sgt Dipuo Ditshego, deputy spokesperson for Kempton Park SAPS.

“The queues at the charge office tend to be very long and with the screening and sanitising of customers it tends to make the queues even longer so we decided to give a helping hand.”

The women helped community members who wanted to certify documents and apply for Covid-19 regulatory permits, among others, while people who wanted to open cases continued to queue at the charge office.The initiative was well appreciated by community members who expressed relief at the sight of a shorter queue.

“We used the opportunity to interact with the public while some were more open to the idea to communicate with us about domestic violence because we are women,” said Ditshego.

“We took charge as women to better the services at the station for our community.”
