Local MC uses his personality to entertain
The MC said his gift is to keep people happy and entertained and seeing how much his community loves and appreciates his work gives him the motivation to keep his career in the entertainment industry ongoing.
Known for his outspoken personality and enthusiastic energy on stage, Boitumelo Mbetsi, popularly known as MC EMnandi, is Thembisa’s go-to-guy for events.
The 33-year-old Maokeng Extension resident began hosting events while he was still in school and was always passionate about pursuing a career in the entertainment industry, despite holding a certificate in sports management.
“I recall from my school days at Birch Acres Primary School, I was always the centre of attention, constantly ensuring people around me were smiling and having fun,” Mbetsi reminisced.

Mbetsi has hosted a number of events, including the Spring Off Jump with DJ Vetkoek and Mahoota, which is one of his highlights. He hosts weddings, funerals, his monthly signature event, Qabula Saturdays, and the Street Food Market.
“My experience as a host has been amazing. When I am on stage, I transform into the polar opposite of who I am when I am not on stage. The stage is my therapy, it allows me to express myself. When the audience responds positively to my work, it gives me motivation to work twice as hard.
“Being raised in a Christian household has also helped me in my career, since I can incorporate events like funerals. My background has paved the path for me.”
Mbetsi has recently released two amapiano tracks, Pinini Bhono and Midrand, which are now available on digital platforms.
While many artists would describe the entertainment industry as challenging and difficult to keep up with, he recalled his experience as pleasant sailing, which he believes is due to doing what he enjoys the most.
“Throughout my career, I have never faced any challenges that have prevented me from performing my duties to the fullest extent possible.
“The only challenges I have faced are spending more time on the job, which has impacted the time I spend with my family. But I am grateful for the support I receive from my wife, parents and fans. Their support keeps me going, and it is because of it that I am here today.”
