#CaxtonCares: The Thembisan is seeking donations for the needy
The Thembisan is appealing to local residents and businesses to come out and join hands with the newspaper in providing food, clothing, and sanitary products to those in need.
The Thembisan is calling its local residents and companies to offer a helping hand by donating to those in need.
During Heritage Month, the newspaper will run the Adopt a Friend campaign, which recognises and celebrates our country’s cultural wealth.
The initiative encourages the notion of “Umuntu Ngumuntu Ngabantu” or “I am because you are” as we are all interconnected, and that one can only grow and progress by seeing others grow and progress.
The aim of the initiative is to reach out to families that have been adversely affected by Covid-19.

Residents are encouraged to donate warm clothing, shoes, non-perishable food, blankets, thermal underwear, socks, sanitising and cleaning products.
The value of giving back to the community, according to Puleng Sekabate, the paper’s senior journalist, cannot be underestimated.
When one gives back, they can make a difference in the lives of those around them. Finding significance in giving back to the community benefits the giver as well as others.
“Because we do not live in a perfect world, there will never be a perfect time to give back. From time to time, we all require assistance. Our communities are typically the ones that help us through difficult times, and now it is our chance to help them, since the pleasures of pitching in and helping others in need may be one of life’s most rewarding sensations.
“It is far more worth than money.
“Our community paper is looking forward to creating or repairing and a place where we can all come together. We would really appreciate your support and that is why we are writing to you today,” said Sekabate.
Residents and business wishing to donate can drop of the parcels at the Thembisan offices in 126 Monument Road, Kempton Park.
