Flying squad recovers vehicles

All these cases are still under investigation.

The Benoni Flying Squad enjoyed a successful weekend from September 17 to 19 with members arresting one suspect and recovering four motor vehicles and a trailer.

WO Grant Giblin, the spokesperson for the Benoni Flying Squad, said officers followed up on information and arrested a suspect in Rabie Ridge for dealing in narcotics.

“Mandrax and R500 were confiscated and handed in at the local police station.”

The flying squad also recovered multiple abandoned hijacked vehicles.

A silver Volkswagen Polo was recovered on Gladiator Street, Rhodesfield, and was reported on a Rabie Ridge case.

A blue Hyundai i20 was found in Boitekong Street, Ivory Park, and was reported on an Olievenhoutbosch case.

A white Hyundai Accent was recovered in Thembisa with the vehicle being connected to an Ivory Park case.

A grey Nissan NP200 was recovered at Isithama section in Thembisa.

A truck trailer was recovered in Radio Road, Alberton, and was connected to a case in Heidelberg.
