Bringing services closer to the community
Residents were able to authenticate their documents, file affidavits and obtain information on anything they wanted to know without having to go to the police station.
Thembisa Communications, Social Crime Prevention, GBV coordinator and sector managers went on a one-on-one campaign to bring services closer to the community on September 30.
The Government Communication and Information System organised the event, which took place at Winnie Mandela Phumulani Mall.
The community had the opportunity to authenticate their documents, file affidavits and obtain information on anything they wanted to know without having to go to the police station.

Government departments other than SAPS involved was Health, Home Affairs, Sassa and NGOs like POWA, YANA (You Are Not Alone) for abused women, Aurum, Makukhanye Rehab and Shelter and Voice of Tembisa.
All these organisations attended to distribute pamphlets and give relevant information to the people.
A lot was achieved as more people were seen queuing to be vaccinated, applying for ID’s and birth certificates, enquiring about the government social grant and certifying and requesting affidavits.
