Mtshali also said the victims were injured as they had tried to stop Mugumbwi, who was trying to steal bricks nearby.
“The case was investigated by the versatile and committed detective, Sgt Welcome Shabalala, who went out of his way to trace and locate Mugumbwi at his hideout in Thembisa on November 20, 2019,” explained Mtshali.
“The detective has ensured that justice is served for the victims by ensuring Mugumbwi does not get bail until his sentencing.”
The Kempton Park SAPS station commander, Brig Lindani Ndlovu, welcomed the sentencing and is proud of the dedication of the detective and commended him for his work.
