#IMadeMyMark: Sipho will vote for change in the country
When people vote, they vote for different reasons and parties, but one thing they have in common is that people vote to make their mark.
The country is days away from witnessing the 2021 municipal elections on November 1.
With the different political parties busy with their election campaigns, citizens are left to consume, analyse and decide which political party will get their vote.

One such person is Kempton Park West resident Sipho Tshabalala (20), who, through a short Q&A, shared what voting means to him.

Q: Why is it important to vote?
A: Because it’s in my power to decide the quality of life I want for myself, others and the next generation. For me, voting is a chance to make a change in our country and tackle all the problems in our society.
Q: How long have you been voting for?
A: This year will be my second time voting. It struck me that it’s a need to vote this year because it’s time we all chose better change for ourselves.
Q: What do you vote for?
A: I vote for more jobs and more opportunities for people in my country and for us to reduce and fight crime and the different forms of violence in our country.
Q: What are you hoping your vote will do for you?
A: Make a change in our country and create more employment, especially for the youth. I am hoping my vote will contribute towards the change and transformation of our economic status. We need to rebuild our economy to greater and stronger heights and get out of the economic issues we are faced with as a country.
Q: What does voting mean to you?
A: For me, voting means change, not only for me but for all. I believe that is the main focus of voting. We are all crying out for better change in our country but by not voting you are not influencing change.
Q: What message do you have for other citizens regarding voting?
A: Vote for the change and quality of life you want for yourself or others. Choose change, choose a better future and choose a life of quality.
