Law enforcement groups join forces for Operation Masakhane

Capt Jethro Mtshali, spokesperson for Kempton Park Police Station said although no arrests were made, all hot spot areas were visited.

Kempton Park SAPS held a police operation on October 23 in conjunction with several law enforcement groups.

The operation included EMPD officers, police reservists, patrollers under the leadership of district CPF chairman Andrew Mosesi, security personnel, ER 24 personnel and NGO Truth about Drugs.

The groups were part of Operation Masakhane which took place from 14:00 to 22:00 and was aimed at building the relationship between the police, community and other law enforcement agencies in the fight against crime.

The operation started with convoy patrols through Kempton Park and made a stop at all the shopping centres and malls in the areas.

Capt Jethro Mtshali, spokesperson for Kempton Park Police Station said although no arrests were made, all hot spot areas were visited.

“We believe that crimes that are prevalent in these areas, including smash and grabs, were prevented,” said Mtshali.
