#IMadeMyMark: Kempton Park residents take to the polls in LGE2021

Queues were longer than expected at the Wynand Marais Community Centre as reports were that the system was offline. The system is back online.

The Express is out in Kempton Park today as voters are taking to the polls in the Local Government Elections.

“The system is back online and it is all systems go as voters make their mark,” said senior journalist Puleng Sekabate.

Some residents also shared their reasons for voting today.

A Birchleigh North resident, Zola Jijana, said he has been voting since 1994.

He urged fellow residents to vote for someone they believe and hope will do as they promise.

“I have always voted because it is the right thing to do. I have always been hopeful that my vote will bring the good change that I would like to see in my community and in our country.”
