The Thembisa lass recently visited the Love of God Disability Foundation and donated sanitary pads to the organisation.

The 19-year-old was involved in assisting Dipalesa Foundation with its Don’t Lose It Bin It cleaning project.

The sanitary pads and toiletries campaign is run under the #ShareTheDignity Campaign, which mainly focuses on supplying the Ivory Park-based foundation, Love of God Disability Foundation, with the essentials.

“My goal is to end period poverty and reduce the negative stigma,” Mahlako commented.
She said she is also running a clothing drive that donates clothes to the Tshepang Care Centre in Vusimuzi Section.

The centre depends on external support to help achieve its mandates.

“They help many children from disadvantaged homes. I wanted to be a volunteer to an organisation that prioritises uplifting children and dignifying them.

“During my motivational talks with the children, I always tell them that your circumstances don’t define who you are.”

Mahlako’s goal is to empower girls by reminding them of self-confidence, self-love and self-respect.
