Pieter Henning’s plans for Ward 25

Residents of Ward 25 re-elected clr Pieter Henning

Kempton Park’s Ward 25 will be under the councillorship of Pieter Henning for another term.
As one of the re-elected ward councillors, here are some of his plans for his ward.
Q: As the re-elected ward councillor, what do you hope to achieve during your term?
A: I will continue to put pressure on all the service delivery departments to provide the promised service delivery standards as indicated in the Batho Pele principles of the city. Like in the past, I am available to assist residents wherever I can within my scope of responsibility as a councillor.
Q: What plans do you have overall for your ward?
A: To put pressure on the city to implement the Ward 25 IDP, of which the priorities are the upgrades/reconstruction of the gravel and sand-sealed roads in the ward as per the five-item wish list in the IDP.
• Pressurise the roads department for improvement of all poorly maintained roads, as well as the poorly maintained stormwater infrastructure in the ward.
• Pressurise the water and sanitation department to improve the overloaded water and sanitation infrastructures.
• Pressurise all departments to enforce the by-laws of the city, specifically EMPD, city planning, building control and the legal and corporate departments. The failure by these departments to enforce the by-laws is quite evident in the state of Ekurhuleni.
Q: When looking at your plans and promises when you were elected in the previous term, how much of your plans materialised?
A: I have made no election promises other than to do my best for all residents at all times. My motto is ‘action speaks louder than words’.
Q: Are there any issues that were not completed in the previous term? How do you plan to work on completing these?
A: There are projects on the IDP that were never completed in the previous terms, and we will continue to pressurise to get the required funds to complete them.
Q: What will you do differently as a ward councillor this time around?
A: I will continue to use all the available avenues within the City of Ekurhuleni structures to address all service delivery issues. I will, like in the past, work with and for the community.
