Meet the speaker of council

Dhlamini, a resident of the City of Ekurhuleni since birth, believes in using his position to influence positive social change by improving the livelihoods of the people in the City of Ekurhuleni.
His involvement in politics and youth development displays a passion for working with people and a commitment to inspire a culture of serving diligently and transparently.
His upbringing is the backstory and motivation behind his belief in empowering residents by creating a safer, upwardly mobile developmental city with a specific focus on poverty alleviation.
He said he takes the responsibility bestowed upon him by council with utmost earnestness.
He not only has committed to serving the people of Ekurhuleni with dignity by oath but also reinforced this ethos in his acceptance speech.
Fully aware of the magnitude of work that lies ahead, he is optimistic, resolute and feels equal to the task.
During his tenure, he wishes to see a progressive council that passes impactful resolutions which will ultimately uplift poor communities, ensure consistent service delivery and achieve good governance.
As the custodian of the Legislature, he will also oversee the work of oversight committees, whose primary role is to ensure stringent scrutiny over the work of the executive and its administration.
He also displays a sense of urgency in ensuring councillors are well equipped to start doing their work of serving communities.
