The Women and Family Centre, based in Maokeng Extension, focuses on the prevention of gender-based violence (GBV) and the empowerment of women who have been abused by their partners.

The Women and Family Centre, based in Maokeng Extension, focuses on the prevention of gender-based violence (GBV) and the empowerment of women who have been abused by their partners.

The centre, which was established in 2020, offers counselling services, public awareness and advocacy, training and the development of local and national partnerships.

According to the founder of the organisation, Jabulile Cynthia Maseko, the organisation also aims to encourage survivors to report abuse, reduce the trauma experienced by the victims and support communities in the fight GBV.

“The vision is to develop a multi-sectoral approach to cooperate with various stakeholders to end all forms of gender violence,” said Maseko.
