Police recover alleged hijacked motor vehicle

It is alleged that the provincial task team has been following track of the alleged hijacked BMW.

Police chased and tracked an alleged hijacked BMW on the afternoon of January 19.

According to Capt Jethro Mtshali, spokesperson for Kempton Park SAPS, the car was allegedly hijacked in Centurion.

“It is alleged that the provincial task team has been following track of the alleged hijacked BMW. The vehicle is alleged to have been hijacked in Lyttelton, Centurion, in November last year,” said Mtshali.

“The said vehicle was spotted in the Kempton Park area and the chase ensued until the suspects were cornered on West Street.

“Two suspects, a male and a female, were arrested and detained at their appearance in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on charges of possession of a suspected stolen vehicle.”

The scene where police recovered an alleged hijacked vehicle on West Street on January 19. It is alleged that the vehicle was hijacked in Lyttelton, in Centurion, in November and the provincial task team had been tracking it until it was spotted in Kempton Park.
