Vusimuzi author talks about the relationship of literature and society

Andile Ziyeka (30) of Vusimuzi wrote a book titled I Should’ve Been a F*cken Astronaut, which discusses civilisation and its impact on varied communities.

He also released his roadmap to help readers live with purpose.
“I’ve been writing since high school. I used to write poems I would never share with anyone because I was sensitive about my work. I believe it was in 2018 when I finally decided to write a book and publish it.
“As I matured and grew older, I became less concerned about what people think and became more interested in sharing my ideas with society.”
Ziyeka’s book is about the impact of societal standards and attitudes on black communities, as well as the consequences.
“Information and motivation come from my life experiences. As someone who grew up in a black underprivileged community, I examined how it influenced how I view life in general and how my experiences influenced the road I chose.
“Getting information will undoubtedly be dependent on the substance of what you’re writing about; however, these days we have the internet and all of these pages, sites and other resources at our disposal to obtain any type of information we require on any subject.
“My advice to up-and-coming authors is for them to discover their vibe and run with it,” said Ziyeka.
