His ward consists of Bonaero Park, Brentwood Park, Goedeburg, Northvilla, Atlasville, northern portion of Northmead and Pomona commercial area.
“In this next term, I will endeavour to serve the entire Ward 23 community with integrity and to the best of my ability,” said du Plessis.
“My overall plans for the ward is to escalate all service delivery issues to the appropriate authorities and expedite actions to take place according to budgetary allowances.
“I have been most successful in my previous term by having at least three petitions actioned, namely traffic lights installed on Great North Road intersection of Louisa Road, Brentwood Park, traffic lights installed on High Road intersection Vryburg Road at Laerskool Brentwoodpark and petition to Parliament for upgrades to the Bonaero sewer system to put a permanent stop to all future sewer overflows to residents’ properties and roads.”
Du Plessis also said he has been successful in putting to action the process to instal new sewer lines along Marignane Avenue and ‘Poo Lake’.
He added that there are several service delivery issues not adequately addressed in the previous term, which he endeavours to continue pursuing.
This includes potholes, street lights, road resurfacing, street name signs, litter picking, water leaks and power interruptions.
“I will also look at grass-cutting more regularly and the protection of the environment.
“I don’t intend on doing anything differently in this new term of office, apart from engaging more with local communities to get them on board to participate in the IDP public participation processes.”
