Thembisa title deeds gather dust

"We urge the beneficiaries, especially in Thembisa, to come forward."

Beneficiaries of government-subsidised residences who have not yet acquired their title deeds are encouraged by the City of Ekurhuleni’s Human Settlements Department to do so at their nearest customer care centres (CCC).

MMC for Human Settlements Mabekenyane Thamahane advised the younger generation to help the elders to collect their paperwork.

“A total of 10 468 title deeds continue to gather dust in our offices.

“Most of these belong to people who acquired RDP houses from as far back as 1994. We urge the senior citizens, especially in Thembisa where there is a high number of uncollected title deeds, to answer the call and collect their documents,” said Thamahane.

For enquiries on RDP title deeds, residents may visit their nearest CCC and take their bar-coded ID.
