Eureka mentorship group aims to assist students with their debt

The organisation's goal is to raise funds to assist university students who are at risk of being financially disadvantaged as a result of their inability to pay their university fees.

Author duo Sifiso Sihlangu and Tumelo Tau have launched a book to help students pay off their school fee debt.
Proceeds from book sales will go towards fundraising efforts for students.
The two are members of the Eureka Mentorship Programme, which aims to change the lives of young people through mentoring.
The programme encourages youngsters to achieve success regardless of their circumstances.
“The organisation is now working to raise funds to assist university students who are at risk of being financially disadvantaged as a result of their inability to pay their university tuition, as well as assistance for students who do not have enough money to register,” said the duo.
“We wrote an anthology last year that we were able to self-publish and as part of our fundraising efforts, we'd like to sell the book and donate the proceeds to the Eureka mentorship group's goal of completing the course.
“We were helped by the organisation and would like to return the favour.
“Student loan debt has an impact on more than just financial stability and level of living. It also dictates which dreams you will be able to follow and which will fade into obscurity.
“You can find yourself abandoning a job that gives you more meaning and fulfilment in exchange for a higher-paying position. This is what we trying to avoid for our fellow mates,” Sihlangu and Tau said.
