WATCH: Rosemary Ndlovu “surprised” by conspiracy to commit murder charges
Convicted murderer Ndlovu and Nomsa Mudau appeared in Kempton Park Magistrate's Court where she demanded the State clarify the charges against her. Both face charges related to conspiracy to murder two Tembisa South SAPS members and Mudau's ex-husband.
Rosemary Nomia Ndlovu told the court she was surprised to appear in Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on April 20 on two charges of conspiracy to commit murder.
She appeared with co-accused Nomsa Mudau who appeared on one count of conspiracy to commit murder.
Both women are former police officers and were in court on charges related to conspiring to murder two police officers and Mudau’s ex-husband.
Ndlovu stated in court that she was unaware of the day’s court appearance.

She requested the State to clarify the alleged transgressions, which she said she had no knowledge of or when they allegedly occurred.
Phindi Louw Mjonondwane, spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority of South Africa, said she was surprised to hear Ndlovu question her appearance in court and the charges she was facing.
“The State followed proper protocol in informing her about her upcoming appearance in court,” said Mjonondwane.
Ndlovu, who was sentenced last year to six life terms in prison for the murders of five of her relatives and her partner, returned to court on Wednesday to face more charges.
These charges were brought against her and Mudau as it is alleged they organised “a hit” on the officers investigating the case against her. They are Sgt Keshi Benneth Mabunda and Col Nthipe Boloka, the station commander of Tembisa South Police Station where Ndlovu had worked.
The court was informed that the officers became aware of the plot to assassinate them shortly after the “hitman” approached them with the information.
Mjonondwane told the court the women also plotted to hire a hitman to murder Mudau’s ex-husband, Justice Mudau, which would allow her to cash in on insurance policies.
A heavily pregnant Mudau was released from police custody on a warning after she informed the court she was expecting her baby later this month.
The case was postponed to May 25 as both accused require legal representation.
Ndlovu remains in custody.
