Pageant hosts annual fitness boot camp

The event kicked off with a yoga session by Elby Theka.

The Miss Thembisa Pageant held its annual Fitness Boot camp on May 7 at the Trendsetter Youth Foundation Art Centre in Ebony Park.
The activities included a yoga session by Elby Theka, a workout session, and a motivational talk by a social worker.
Mohau Matinketsa, an organiser, said the event highlighted the significance of taking time for your mental health and being conscious of your surroundings.
“This was followed by a talk by social worker, Aaron Phatlane, who highlighted the importance of safety for women and issues associated with mental health and gender-based violence.
“After this was a workout session by Reneilwe Kgengwe aka ‘RK Fitness'. This was an intense but beneficial,” said Matinketsa.
The event closed off with a raffle with participants winning prizes such as gym equipment.
