Kaalfontein High School learner, Inga Mtshamba (19) was a member of the Red Devils Pantsula Group.

His loved ones learned about his death when they approached the police to report him as a missing person.

Inga Msthamba was an energetic member of the Red Devils Pantsula Group.

Inga’s mother, Fikiswa Mtshamba, said her son had left the house on July 30.

“When he left, he said he would return – Inga would always tell me if he wasn’t going to return that night.”

Fikiswa grew concerned when her son did not return home the same day.

By Sunday the family started looking for him with the help of the Red Devils Pantsula team members.

Solly Phahlamohlaka, group leader of the group said the team tried to find Inga on Sunday and by Monday a decision was made to report him as a missing person.

“We called the Ivory Park SAPS and described him and what he was last seen wearing.

“That is when we were told there was a body matching the description at the mortuary,” said Phahlamohlaka.

“The victim had been stabbed and was not identified at the time he was found,” Ivory Park SAPS spokesperson, Captain Ben Matimulane confirmed.

He added that no arrests have been made and the murder investigation is still ongoing.

“We don’t know if it was a robbery gone wrong or someone who had something against him. All we know is that he’s gone,” said Phahlamohlaka.

Inga was described as kind and friendly by his family and friends.

“He was a very respectful boy.

“He knew what was wrong and what was right. He would always tell me where he was going.

“He would say, ‘Mama, I’m going to the shops with a friend and he would come right back,” said his mother Fikiswa.

She said her son was inspired by his dance tournaments.

“He was a good child.”

Inga joined the Pantsula group in 2017.

“We called him Madala Dallas Texas as he was a hard worker. He always had a positive mind and big dreams.

“His dream was to go to America’s Got Talent and his second was to see himself raising the flag of Isipanstula International,” said Phahlamohlaka.

Phahlamohlaka added that Inga was dedicated to his goals.

“Unfortunately, his life was cut short,” mourned Phahlamohlaka.

The group hosted a memorial for Inga at the Goniwe Community Hall next to Ivory Park Police Station to say their final goodbye to their team member.
