Thembisa elderly woman saved from mob attack

They admonished the community not to take the law into their own hands because they might become suspects.

An early morning swift response from the SAPS saved a 63-year-old woman on March 1.

Officers, while they were on patrol, received a report of probable mob justice at the Moriting Sector, Thembisa.

Grabbing the opportunity to address the community, communications officer Sergeant Patricia Mgijima, condemned vigilantism and informed the neighbourhood that they can report such cases to the SAPS Occult Unit.
She warned the community not to take the law into their own hands because they might become suspects.

“I urge residents to establish a neighbourhood watch and community patrols to raise the alarm when they come across issues and when it was safe to do so.
